Family Advocate, Bilingual Spanish

A full-time 40 hour position has become available for a FamilyAdvocate-Bilingual Spanish in our Early Head Start program a tour 4500 South site. The Family Advocate provides services for pregnant women, and for children and their families in the areas of early childhood development, disabilities, child health and safety, nutrition, prenatal education, and family partnerships.

Job duties include:

  • Conducting weekly home visits to provide education, referrals, and other advisory services to program participants;
  • Assisting parents and pregnant women in ensuring that their health and mental health needs are met;
  • Providing emotional support for families and assisting them in their role as an advocate for their child.

Driving is required so you must be at least 21, have reliable transportation, a current driver’s license, car insurance, and good driving record. A background screen and motor vehicle report will be done on all new hires.

A bachelor’s degree in Human Development, Family Studies,Child Development or a related field is preferred and a minimum of one year of related experience in early childhood education, family services, or another related field is required.

Knowledge of community resources is a plus.
